Khalid has not responded to these allegations, and representatives for Khalid didn’t instantly reply to HuffPost’s request for remark. In the meantime, musician MNEK immediately addressed Almonte on X, accusing him of partaking in “loser behaviour.”
Almonte advised Vulture he “by no means” meant to “out somebody who’s clearly been out already in the neighborhood in Los Angeles.” He mentioned his “intentions” have been to “share my story and share how [Khalid] tried to make use of his energy to silence me as a result of I merely ended our relationship, he was afraid of what I’d say.”
Khalid, for his half, seems prepared to maneuver on. In a last tweet Friday night, he signed off with a message of affection suggesting he’s mentioned all he has to say.
